Event Horizon traces the spirit of London’s artistic avant-garde as ‘sculpture becomes event’ through experimental installation, performance and action. With a taste for the transformative and the spontaneous, this series of new commissions often ephemeral in nature appears throughout the season, radiating from the Senate Room into the adjoining neo-classical spaces, cinema, shop, portico, neighbouring streets and online.

Hosting over 30 days of live events and artists residencies, Gross & Wu’s Event Horizon Social Club is an installation and curatorial infrastructure evoking historical spaces of social gathering and revolutionary transformation. At its heart shifting and unstable, Event Horizon constantly occupies a space of dualism, generating modes of new collective experience beyond the visible horizon.

The Event Horizon, where art dissolves and evolves into social activity. A DIY social space environment in a stunning neoclassical function room at the entrance to the galleries. From a working café and late night bar radiates a series of major new commissions - ephemeral occupations in the form of installations, performances, residencies, club nights, and more.
